Susah Port Concept Mater Plan
• Site condition inspection
• Determining most suitable design for the given location
• Defining the Client’s needs
• Developing the port facilities and maximum capabilities
• Cost budgeting and cost control
The Susah Port Concept Master Plan was developed to define a long-term vision for a new multi-purpose port on Libya’s eastern coast. The project focused on creating an optimal layout that integrates commercial, industrial, and logistical operations while ensuring resilience to the site’s coastal and metocean conditions.
Bower and Octant conducted a comprehensive site condition inspection and feasibility-level master plan, identifying the most suitable marine layout based on environmental parameters, wave climate, and prevailing wind patterns. The study included port capacity development, functional zoning, and concept designs for berthing, cargo handling, and storage facilities.
A key part of the assignment involved cost budgeting and control, ensuring that proposed infrastructure solutions remain economically viable while maximizing operational efficiency and adaptability for future expansion.
Through this strategic master plan, the Susah Port was envisioned as a modern maritime hub that supports regional trade and economic growth in North Africa.
